I was lucky enough to be asked by the original eco-designer, Kelly LaPlante, if I would guest edit the “On the Boards” section of Standard magazine’s “Summer Abroad” Issue. “Adventures in Om” in September Whole Living Magazine
I’ve been covering ethical travel for Martha Stewart’s Whole Living magazine, and here are the first fruits of my (and my editor’s) labor! “Practical Sublimities”: My Thesis for Columbia University’s MFA in Nonfiction Writing
Today I handed in my thesis! Needless to say I’m exhausted, but happy, and very, very proud. It came it at just over 34,000 words, and is a combination of memoir, science writing, essay and the chapter of the book project I’ve been working on, called Sense(Less).
And now I just wait until my thesis meeting in a few short weeks, and hopefully, graduation in October! (In celebration, I wore the same skirt that I wore to my first day of classes, it’s a full-length beauty of a skirt from Anthropologie that I’ll have forever!)
